Beliefs

A few beliefs I feel strongly on (formulated from books, personal anecdotes, and my brother)

There are many things in life that are good for me that I hate doing. Some examples: studying in school (certain subjects I liked, certain ones I hated), eating clean (you can't make kale taste good to me), working out after a 14 hour workday. I know a lot of these others don't like doing either. And I may not like doing them, but I still do it. And I really believe the fact I end up doing them, consistently, day after day, will set me apart. And I sleep well at night knowing I didn't let a human preference for comfort get in the way of my progression. Same way Mike Tyson slept well at night knowing he's the only one waking up at 4 to run miles.

This goes hand in hand with the above. Automate/habitualize as many things you hate as you can. You have a set amount of willpower every day (read Willpower by Tierney and Baumeister), and the more you spend it debating if you should do something the less stuff you get done. I may hate cardio and expense reporting, but if I make that habit as tight as brushing my teeth my willpower remains untouched. Spend your precious willpower on the big, nuanced decisions, not on whether you should brush your teeth.

Temperance is the best anti-corruption medication.

Every single high caliber man that falls in a dimension failed to practice temperance in some capacity that led them to said position.

If you are selfish, try to be more unselfish and a good person. It's the best way to serve yourself.

Your outer appearance is a walking billboard. You can advertise whatever you want. Dress well, get in shape, take care of your hygiene, if you want to advertise the best version of yourself. The very first layer of a first impression is initial visual impression (your walking billboard).
